The Atlanta Chapter of the Black Footwear Forum brought the city’s sneaker community together for a powerful dialogue on mentorship and leadership in the industry. One of the highlights was the panel “Mentorship Evolved,” featuring Dion Walcott, Founder of MARTKD, and Karla Duncan, Sales Director at Puma.
The session took place at The Athlete’s Foot (TAF) flagship store in Atlanta, GA and explored how mentorship is transforming—moving beyond traditional advice to focus on access, opportunity, and building networks that elevate the next generation of talent. Walcott and Duncan shared real-world experiences that underscored the importance of representation, collaboration, and action.
Rooted in Atlanta’s deep sneaker culture, the event reinforced the Forum’s mission: to connect, inspire, and amplify Black voices shaping the footwear industry. The Atlanta Chapter led by TAF’s VP of Global Marketing, Darius Billings, continues to drive that vision forward—one conversation, one connection, and one opportunity at a time.
